A designer's portfolio has to prove its talent from the first screen. For Adam Rekik, we imagined a site that reads like a poster: few words, massive type and maximum contrast.

The imagined brief

Adam Rekik is an independent designer and creative director who helps companies, brands and entrepreneurs with their digital products. Potential clients compare several portfolios in a few minutes. The site had to make an immediate impression, then present the projects clearly and convincingly.

The idea

The name and title fill the screen like a poster: "ADAM REKIK" top left, "CREATIVE DIRECTOR" bottom right, in giant capitals. Between them, a short sentence sums up the value proposition. The empty space between the words is part of the composition.

Art direction

Black and white, no compromise. PP Acma, a narrow, crisp display face, sets the headings; PP Neue Montreal, a neutral grotesque, carries the copy. The absence of colour leaves all the room to the project visuals, which become the only coloured touches on the site.

Motion

Headings slice and slide into place on load, projects scroll by like numbered plates — "01 / 09", "02 / 09" — and images reveal themselves on hover. The rhythm is fast and confident, like a designer sure of their work.

The journey

Home, About, Projects, Awards, Contact. Each project has a detailed page with the context, role and deliverables. The Awards page gathers recognition, and contact stays reachable from every page to turn interest into an enquiry.

What this concept brings to a real brand

For a freelancer, photographer or consultant, this concept shows that a portfolio doesn't need effects to impress: a strong composition, confident type and well-told projects are enough. That's often what makes the difference against competitors with similar profiles.

Concept: the brand and its brief were imagined by KOYOTEC to explore a creative direction. This is not a client project.
