A night under the Saharan stars is better told than described. For Ciel de Douz, we imagined a website that turns a tourist outing into an exploration mission.
The imagined brief
Ciel de Douz offers stargazing nights from a small camp in the dunes near Douz. Its visitors are curious travellers, families and astronomy enthusiasts. The site had to spark wonder, stand out from standard excursion agencies and make people want to book a night.
The idea
The camp becomes a "desert observatory" and every visit an expedition. The home screen shows futuristic towers against a giant planet, with the title "DESERT OBSERVATORY" in condensed letters. Counters — worlds observed, fragments recovered, signals — set up a playful science-fiction story.
Art direction
A palette of sand and night: light beige, charcoal grey, a cold sky blue for accents. SCHABO, a very condensed display face, signs the headings like a sci-fi film poster; Host Grotesk carries the copy and Geist Mono the data, codes and timestamps, like a station dashboard.
Motion
The site starts on a "stabilising feed", text appears like transmissions and figures count up as you scroll. Even the contact form speaks the mission's language: "Send a signal", "Initiate a transmission".
The journey
Index for the story, Observatory for the place and equipment, Expedition for how the night unfolds, Traces for photos and memories, Contact to book. An FAQ, also written in the mission's tone, answers practical questions.
What this concept brings to a real brand
For a tourism, events or leisure business, this concept shows the power of a story: the same outing becomes an adventure when the site tells it within a consistent world. That's what lets you stand out against similar offers.
Concept: the brand and its brief were imagined by KOYOTEC to explore a creative direction. This is not a client project.
