A couture house doesn't sell clothes: it sells a gesture, patience and a story. For Maison Aurèle, we imagined a website that reads like a studio notebook rather than a shop.

The imagined brief

Maison Aurèle is a Paris couture house presenting its spring-summer collection, "Fil d'or" (golden thread). Its audience discovers fashion through shows and magazines, not product pages. So the site had to set a mood before showing a single piece, and make visitors want to book an appointment rather than add to cart.

The idea

Everything starts with the golden thread. The title "Fil d'or" opens on either side of a vertical photograph, like fabric being drawn apart. Each section — collections, lookbook, show — is treated like a page from a fashion catalogue: lots of air, one strong image, a few words.

Art direction

We chose an ivory, almost paper-like background and a discreet gold kept for details. Headings are set in Cormorant Garamond, a finely contrasted serif that recalls luxury publishing. Small labels — season, city, navigation — use DM Mono in spaced capitals, like the labels sewn into a garment. Deep burgundy appears in the images and dark backgrounds.

Motion

Animations stay slow and restrained: headings reveal line by line, images drift slightly as you scroll. Nothing flashes, nothing rushes. The site's rhythm mirrors a runway show, where every silhouette has time to be looked at.

The journey

Visitors enter through the collection, then choose their path: collections to discover the pieces, the lookbook for complete silhouettes, the show for the runway mood, and finally contact to request a studio appointment. The site exists in French and English, with a discreet switcher at the top, as befits a house speaking to an international clientele.

What this concept brings to a real brand

This concept shows how a high-end identity can move online without losing its restraint: carefully chosen type, a short palette and motion that serves the story. It's the same approach we offer fashion, jewellery and craft brands that want a website worthy of their savoir-faire.

Concept: the brand and its brief were imagined by KOYOTEC to explore a creative direction. This is not a client project.
